Am I allowed to work for another company that is involved in a similar business after layoff?

sent me a lessen and digit of the restrictions states that after they alter my emloyment, I cannot impact for added consort that is totally or part in rivalry with the company. Is that legal in law? and do i study the accumulation of China or Canada regarding this contract?

Look at the contract and find the length of time you cannot work for a competitor. Non-compete clauses are normal and legal.
are 18 months to 2 years.
could be sued if they find you violating the contract.
