  2. there are more than likely habitable planets beyond our solar system, but that doesnt mean that they also host life.

probably do as life has a way of kickstarting and maintaining. as for alien sightings. i'm yet to see some solid evidence. in the eighties, everyone was fretting about witches, then it was aliens.

    just the latest fad IMO.

there's a lot of money involved in controvesy and conspiracy theories. Intergallactic travel. if there are being that have come here, then they will more than likely have developed a propulsion system mucg different to what we use to get about.

you are talking about (how fast they had to go) is based on newtonian physics and it would take them forever to get here litteratlly tens of thousands of years from the nearest star system. it is far more likely that they have developed some form of warp system to make space travel less time consuming a bit like they do on star trek, i guess. so the observational speed may be faster than the speed of light, but in fact all they are doing is travelling within the constraints of the universal speed limit, but compressing space at the same time.

up on star trek warp drives, or alternatively, go show some interest in the opposite gender they're much more fun. oh one more thing.

universe is billions of years old and has billions of years of life left in it, so not only would life need to exist in our corner of the universe for us to find it, but it would also need to exist at out current time in the universe too. if life is rare, then this stacks the odds against us. we may be alone, due to us existing at the wrong time, not because we are special.

think, only 65 million years ago, the earth was roamed by dinosaurs.

universe is 13.73 billion years old. 65 million years is 0.4% of the age of the universe and look how much life has changed and evolved on Earth alone.
