Why did Subaru still uses 4-speed AT on its latest 2009 Forester unlike its competitors?

They have a 5EAT on the legacy's but I'm guessing unless it shows better mileage or performance, there is no reason to change.
RAV-4 and CR-V have AWD systems that are a joke.
run FWD till the rear slips so maybe the 5 speed suits them better. If AWD is important to you, do your self a favor and don't even consider the other two.
has made AWD vehicles for decades and now has one of the best systems on the market.
