I am in the Army. I've never been shot down while riding in a Blackhawk. I was in Somolia during the same period that “Blackhawk Down” was depicted.
Rangers were admirable.
courage, commitment, responsibility and professionalism to their espirit de corps was in the best interest of the US Army, and I tell my soldiers to never accept defeat and never leave a fallen comrade.
the Army because you want to defend this nation. Don't join it because actors on a movie (which I've seen and is a great movie) may have depicted courage, bravery and integrity in a manner that may not portray you in combat. Oh, if you re-watch the movie, when the Rangers came running into the gate the guard at the gate was me when I was stationed there.
