What are threesome types of clan resources to support me attain a kinsfolk tree?

  1. One Response to “What are three types of genealogical resources to help me make a family tree?”

  2. Birth, marriage and death records are the three “primary sources” that we use.

you go back far enough, baptismal registers replace birth certificates. Census, voter registration and pension records are secondary sources that are used. They're often not filled out by the person him/herself, so we give them less importance.

instance, the US Census Bureau says that if a house is visited three times and no one answers, a neighbor can be contacted to fill out whatever information they may know.

can guess at ages, place of birth, place where parents were born, etc.

the records don't tell you who filled out the record, so we always take the census records with less importance than things like a marriage license.
